Absolutely appalled. We are not living in the colonial age! There are NO reasonable grounds for this action.

I am appalled at this decision by Wyoming City Council. This will make our community less safe. I find it hard to believe that an issue of this magnitude was kept under wraps, and not presented in a community forum for discussion. I love Wyoming. But now, I will fear being in any public place in Wyoming. How does our police department feel about this? It is just awful. I think it needs to be on a ballot, because I don't think the majority of folks who live in Wyoming are ok with this. I am disappointed and frightened. What will become of my family friendly, peaceful and safe community?

No thank you!! Such measures occurring on an intimate, local level should be voted upon by constituents.

I am disappointed in the decision on this very serious subject without any input from the community.

I am a resident with a child at Vermont Primary. The public parks, the community's use of public space, and the walkability of the community drew us to Wyoming. The legal carrying of firearms in some of those space will make my family less safe.

Wyoming has one of the BEST school districts around; WHY would you want to jeopardize this and the safety of ALL its residents?

Thank you to everyone who signed this petition regarding Concealed Carry and came out to the City Council meeting this evening to share your views. Jim O'Reilly, Chair of the Law Committee (and the lone vote rejecting the resolution a couple of weeks ago), was present along with Lynn Tetley, Rusty Herzog, Jennifer Eismeier, Michael Eyman, and the City Solicitor. The Council primarily listened during the 90-minute meeting as dozens of individuals shared their perspectives in 3-minute increments. There were residents on both sides of the issue present, with significantly more who voiced disappointment in Council's decision and communication surrounding it. The actual resolution is more narrow than I previously understood, but nevertheless the fact remains that with a vote of 6-1, Council proactively chose to change the status quo without clear rationale or evidence that demonstrates a clear benefit to the community. The Council's next step is to revisit the resolution at its next regular meeting - May 15 at 7:30pm. If you can attend that meeting, please come! Thank you again for making this community so special.

Stop the madness. We are not colonists with muskets trying to protect ourselves against the army of the king. Less guns = less gun violence and fewer gun accidents.
