Kids in EFI program in New Heritage Hills area are also affected, since kids from surrounding areas (RR/KE/HH) will continue attend Stephen Leacork Elementary school, but kids in NHH area will be redirected to the school to be built in Morgan's Grant area (corner of Terry Fox/Old Second Line)

Our children attend W. Erskine Johnston. These proposed changes would see our son remain at WEJ for grade 6, and our daughter moved to Roland Michener for grade 4 where she knows nobody. These schools have different run times which would be difficult for dropping off/picking up as we use the Extended Care Program. We moved to Richardson Ridge 2 years ago and our children have already worked hard to establish new friendships in a new community and school.

I had an opportunity to review the latest school boundaries proposal (due to the opening of the Kanata North Elementary School) from your working groups with confusion and shock. I understand the need to balance the population and reduce overcrowding in some of our existing schools, but the proposals switch my small neighbourhood, New Heritage Hill (part of Richardson Ridge south of Richardson Side Road), to the Roland Michener PS ENG program, while leaving the surrounding neighbourhood the same.
This small area is partitioned where only one small is part of the greater community of Kanata Estates and Heritage Hill.
I always thought that schools are part of the fabric in our communities. In today's demographic reality, it may not always be possible to locate the schools near by. However, let's choose the boundaries with a little more sense of community where kids can still visit their friends in school.
My kids already have the good fortune to have friends in both Kanata Estates and Heritage Hills. They have attended birthday parties there and vice versa. One day, they will ride their bicycles to visit their friends. Let's not limit this trip to the surrounding houses or a far away locatiion because of the decisions we are making now.
I thank you for your time in reading this letter. Please give some considerations to my concerns and let's work together to build our communities.
I can be available to answer to any of my comments.

If the school boundaries need to be adjusted, kids from same neighborhood should go to the same school so they can work on the group projects with walking distance. It helps the parents to help each other if any emergency happens. This will also reduce the cost for school bus service.
This proposal is unfair and need to be changed.

It is very strange and irrational decision that to separate Richardson Ridge south of Richardson side road alone from the surrounding area, like Richardson Ridge, Insmill area and Kanata Estate. We share the same parks and playground with the rest of Richardson Ridge and Kanata Estate and Insmill area. We are far away from Minto Acadia and Village Green. I am very concerned about this new proposal and what's the rational behind this?

It is an unfair treatment to us as we pay the same property tax rate as our neighbours in Kanata Estates, etc. do. How come their children can go to WEJ and ours not. We all live in the same area.
