Most of my son's classmates live in Richardson Ridge, Heritage Hill and Kanata Estate. Some of them are best friends since preschool and JK. There are three parks nearby: Broughton Park, Insmill Park and Judy Laughton Park. My son loves to play there as he usually sees his schoolmates there. These three parks are common playgrounds for children who live in the neighborhood. Richardson Ridge, Heritage Hill, New Heritage Hill and Kanata Estate form a close-knit community. It is unreasonable to isolate the New Heritage Hill area from the surrounding neighborhood. People who live in the New Heritage Hill have the right to be part of the existing community and go to the same school.
Also the boundaries need to be adjusted to promote community school model which students will attend their closet school within their community when possible.

limited enrollments from a small standalone community made by school boundary have negative influences on elementary students and increase unnecessary cost of public services:
This will make the children hard to find group project partners with walking distance for projects need to be completed with out-of-school time.
This will make the children hard to find friends with the same age within the same grade of the same school.
This will make the parents hard to support each other when emergencies happen.
Our small section of Kanata Lakes should not be cut off from our surrounding neighborhood, and our children should be attending school with others who live close to them.
Sectioning off our few streets will harm our new community. Communities benefit when neighbors know each other and share common concerns. Communities benefit when neighborhood children attend school together.
Comparing with the solution of swapping communities closed to RMPS to this school, this will make school bus running unnecessary longer time, wasting the public service resources and tax payer’s money, leading to unnecessary longer travel time for elementary students.
We are encouraged to go green and try to encourage students to walk to school or bike to school if it is possible. Limited enrollments would make the children hard to find partners and discourage their inspiration of environmentally friendly.
Unlike Arcadia development areas, which is developing and will have larger amount of enrollments, this area is small and will not have expanding enrollments potentials. So the above issues will be forever lasting.
