The EPA protects US citizens from dangerous substances. There is no doubt a cost to those who use our environment, but for the sake of the common good they must endure it. We are not a 3rd world country where anything goes; not yet.

Scott Pruitt is on the wrong side of science when it comes to the environment. The continued hospitability of the environment is at a critical make-or-break point that can only have a good outcome if we accept what scientific observations tell us about man-made impacts on the environment and take actions to curtail activities that are causing the problem. Scott Pruitt is not the right person for this position.

The appointment of Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt — a climate change denier, close friend of the fossil fuel industry and opponent of the Clean Power Plan — to be head of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is a terrible choice for our country and the world.

It's pretty simple, if you want healthy people, you need a healthy planet. It is something we should all want and be working for.

As a mother and teacher, I demand that we have a director of the EPA who listens to the vast majority of climate scientists and who makes environmental protection and climate change mitigation his top priority!

The collective mindset of the incoming administration is a horror movie script. "Draining the swamp" meant filling it with even scarier creatures.

Climate change and pollution must be addressed immediately and aggressively through science not self interest. We need a leader who has the scientific and humane qualifications needed for this job.

We need to continue to limit global warming and address climate change for our generation and for generations, hopefully, yet to come!
