The parking garage in this location will significantly alter the character of this whole quadrant of Naples and its beaches by creating new traffic thoroughfares throughout the adjoining neighborhoods. Zoning laws are created to ensure development meets community standards and must be respected in the long term--that is their purpose. Open and transparent community engagement and discussion must be allowed and controversial proposals must be considered with input from everyone affected, and not be presented and voted on with this cloak and dagger methodology and timing in off season.

No one is building parking garages in 2017. Ride sharing services are forcing many cities to think about when they will need to repurpose garages. Naples may have a lot of older people who are slow to adopt new technology but that will change. This project is a waste of money and will leave the city with a white elephant.

I wholeheartedly oppose the building if this garage when will the overbuilding ever end. How many more people do we need to welcome into this already overcrowded town?

We receive notices of applications by restaurants on 5th Ave. every time they want to change a window, put up an awning or change their sign. Now that the City wants to build a 350 space parking garage across the street from us they give no notice and schedule meetings in the middle of summer. Every resident of Naples should be outraged.

My husband and I made it a habit to visit 5th Ave. every Saturday night for an ice cream at Regina's and a stroll down the Avenue. Do not build this parking garage. Allowing this over development is ruining the small town feel of our city. Please vote no.

Hello, I have been an Old Naples resident off and on since 1995 and have enjoyed the vibrant city and growth. There is a limit to use of the facilities in our town including the beaches and it seems like we have reached that limit. This especially with the proposed new developments. Let's save some of our city for use by folks who live here and pay large taxes instead of folks who live elsewhere.

I am against a garage on 4th/4th, it does not make sense to allow beachgoers park for free and all the city meters will be useless. And I doubt if it is legal to spend taxpayers money in such delicate issue

In a few years, far fewer people will be driving their own cars to a night on the town. Why create a white elephant eyesore in a lovely residential neighborhood?

I am vehimently against the rezoning of residential property in my City to accommodate a parking garage on 4th and 4th. Our uniqueness lies in the fact that bucolic residential tree lined streets are a block from a wonderful little town. Destroying our residential community will destroy Naples. People visit to enjoy the beauty and small town feel of Naples. If they want car choked streets and commercial buildings, they go to Miami.
