No to the garage! Many reasons - impedes residential neighborhood. Land purchase price is overpriced. This is not for the benefit of Naples city residents but for the benefit of the actual landowner (Hoffman) who also owns a larger number of properties on 5th Ave area and now expanded to commercial properties off 3rd St area. As residents, we don't want to increase density in downtown Naples.

First of all, we do not need any more parking downtown. This parking garage will simply be used as a pay off to a billionaire developer and most spaces will ultimately be used for employees and people going to the beach. Finally, the price on this is outrageous and a total waste of taxpayer money. It is clear from the insanity of this proposal that some financial kickbacks or "pay to play" Is at work here.

More parking will encourage more congestion which there is too much of already. Proper consultation needs to be undertaken before passing permission for more parking. These votes should not happen during summer months when so many residents are away.

Why are you removing the charm of Naples to appease developers? The towns that have kept their reputation for charm and quality of life have done by intelligent long range planning. Not by the seat of their pants.

We do not need to provide FREE beach parking, which in part this will be. Hoffman can pay for and build their own garage if they feel the need.
The city should not spend $45,000 per parking spot when there are plenty of easier options like removing illegal obstructions from the public way to free up parallel parking, encouraging biking and rideshares, enhancing public transit, and restricting more areas to three hours during business hours to encourage turnover to help local businesses.
If any garage is to be built, it should be done along 10th Street either near Tin City or just north of Central. Both locations would be cheaper, inside the heart of the CRA, and have much more potential for economic development and density to make downtown both more walkable and livable while still maintaining a "small town" feel near the beach.
