There should be more emphasis on advertising and trying to get the locals, including schools to use this excellent resource more rather than reducing the opening hours.

You need more people through the doors not close them, more people means more money

Crazy to even think of closing the rink during day times, if patch times become full in the afternoons as adults and non school children have to use this time instead I know we would have to take my daughter to another rink to train it would just become to busy to get any decent practice in! coaches jobs are at risk as this is their income cutting daytime surely means cut in wages to most? Not a clever idea at all.

As a figure skater myself, this makes me so mad! Figure skaters do not get the respect or help needed in order to compete at the best they can!

The plant needs to run 24 hours a day, so they should be encouraging people not partially closing it!

Should be encouraging more schools to use this excellent facility

Serious skaters in training for competitions will not have enough ice time so will probably move to other rinks, adults and other who use the rink during the daytime will loose their opportunity to exercise by skating and Telford will probably loose their coaches as they will not have enough ice time to give lessons in order to make a living, it is their job not a hobby. Maybe volunteers could be brought in to help run the rink if the council can't do the job, it isn't unheard of.

As a figure skater/ice dancer I can see no benefit in closing down the ice rink in the daytime. Many of us use the rink in the mornings to train and adults and toddlers alike need use of the rink during the daytime.

Visited this rink with my daughter in 2014 for there open figure skating competition , this is a lovely rink with great facilities , this is a disgrace when they should be encouraging people to excercise.

My husband and myself skate every morning, it is a great way to keep fit. We are both nearly 60 and it is important to stay fit. We are unable to skate any other time as we both work nights, so the only time we get to skate is after work.

This proposal is a very short-sighted idea. If the Council sat down with the stakeholders at the rink, there are numerous ideas that could be discussed around how to keep the rink more busy, while gaining contribution towards costs.

Silly decision. Why penalise something that is so valuable to the community? Surely with a bit of sense you can increase the footfall? Get local schools down there? Sure they would love to use it for games lessons?

Keep the ice rink open as this is a fantastic form of exercise, not everyone can got at night. Advertise the facility so people know it's available!!

You could make skating at Telford more attractive by dropping the prices. It's just too expensive.

Have more competitions to bring skaters from all over the county to compete, to stay in local hotels and buy food from local retailers! !

The adult morning sessions are brilliant Not only for fitness but many of us enjoy the encouragement by the professional coaches and the social interaction I would be distraught without this as I have a very stressful job and benefits from the sessions on adult morning sessions are beyond measure

This is a terrible idea. It would affect so many people that use the rink at those times to skate socially, keep fit and train for tests and competitions.

Do NOT close this rink. Apart from the hockey and figure skating it is a valuable resource for people of all ages and abilities.
