If you want to keep youngsters of the streets shutting amenities is not the way to go.Try cutting councillors wages that might help the budget.

Telford development initially decided to commit Telford to an ice skating rink in the 1960...it is a false economy to reduce the opening hours now..given all the money that has been spent over the yeàrs.

I think the Monday session of tots on ice is an amazing thing take my 2 year old there every Monday. he loves being on the ice. would be gutted if they stopped that one hour a week session.

complety ridilcious.. the amount of people that visit you should be making plenty to run the ice rink and pay staff their wages. think council need to start budgetting better!

We need morning hours, if its closed in the morning, weekend sessions will be overcrowded, imposible to train for figure skaters...just leave the times, how it is now

Young up and coming skaters need to be able to train as often as possible. Not have their hours reduced!! They need their rink to be locally accessable so they are able to maintain training combined with education. Many of these young people are trying to forge a future not just competatively but also leading to potential sports degrees and future employment.

More should be done to promote the ice rink rather than reduce the facility. The Ice rink has been for a long time, an important part of the fabric of Telford. Many people rely on it and use it and with youth services already being cut then facilities like this are likely to get more use ion promoted in the right way.

Telford needs more leisure activities not more bars and restaurants and now you want to reduce hours available. Don't agree closing the rink during quiet periods.... Council need to see where money is being wasted.

By closing in the day that will loose income surely ? Opening earlier and having longer patch sessions might be the way to go. Opening patch sessions to guests and coaches might also increase income. The rink is a busy vibrant facility don't close it. And there are less staff working there than there used to be, they have worked in extremely difficult conditions since reopening and the thanks they get is that their jobs are now at risk for the second time. The rink is the closest one for west Shropshire and has visitors from all over the country coming to use its facilities and watch the hockey. Maybe the timetable can be altered but don't close it, and don't cut jobs it would lead to the end of the rink.

Why don't the council sell the rink if they don't want the cost of it? Surely Planet Ice or Red Hockey etc would be interested in taking it on?
