Reject Paradigm's Proposal for the Davies Property!

Fairfax city has a unique character distinct from the surrounding county. Lets keep it that way! NO to high density development.

I reject the proposal - enough building in Fairfaz City - it is congested and between GMU and the new building in the heart of Fairfax City - ENOUGH!!

This will change the face of Fairfax City and I am adamantly opposed to it. The City needs homes for long term residents who will continue to strengthen our local economy

I stand behind the citizens of Old Town Fairfax. I reject this proposal.

I am opposed to the proposed development of the Davies property because it is in direct contradiction to the character of old town Fairfax. The city has successfully navigated the balance between modernization and preserving its historic character. My family chose this area because it preserved its quaint feel despite proximity to an expanding metropolis and the tell-tale over development that typically characterizes urban sprawl. A complex of over 200 persons is the antithesis of that ethos. Let's not even discuss the traffic congestion, environmental, and societal impacts of a transient population at that volume. There must be other development options that would benefit the Davies family and increase revenue to our fair city without eroding its unique blend of small town and historic preservation.

Dear Fairfax City Council Members, I strongly urge you to disapprove the Paradigm/Davies proposal to construct a high-density rental complex in the heart of our historic city. I am a Fairfax resident and homeowner for over 15 years, a military veteran, and a working professional, and I specifically chose this City for my permanent residence because of its character and commitment to small-town values that place community and neighborly living above other interests. The large apartment complex described by the Paradigm developers is not appropriate for this location for the many well-described reasons other petitioners have cited. Additionally, during the poorly-organized 19 Oct Community Meeting hosted by Paradigm, which allegedly was to gain the residents' input BEFORE resubmitting their amended plan for this project to the City Council, I felt that Paradigm had done a very poor job of understanding the character and essence of our community and that they were being extremely naive (or disingenuous) in the assumptions they were making about the impacts their proposal would make on Fairfax City. I then learned that they had already submitted their revised plan to the City Council BEFORE the Community Meeting, so they really were seeking neither our input nor our support and their stated desire to be a "good neighbor" was solely lip service, their investment in this City solely for financial gain. I would like to thank those City Council members who actually attended this "community meeting" for their interest and support. By being there to hear the discussion and gain an appreciation of our concerns, it demonstrated to me your level of commitment to our fair city and reassured me that my votes for you last election were well-placed. I cannot more strongly ask you to continue to put the long-term interests of the residents of this City over the short-term (and shortsighted) gains that this proposal may seem to provide by disapproving this and

I am happy to sign this petition. I share in the concerns about this project. Two acres of land, in an akward location, do not provide space for 254 or more apartments, hundreds of tenants, plus cars, motorcycles, bykes, pets and more. This project as planned, poses negatively physical, mental and financial consequences for everyone. I am not against development, but I am for sustainable development; one in which my rights to a healthy, safe and security environment are respected. In this regard, I expect that the citicouncilmen, as my representatives, voice my concerns and reach a conscientious decision.
