Reject HB 1263 NH Hostile Homeschool Bill

It's for my child's best interest not for the politicians pocket interest. The system failed us, and that is why we homeschool.

Another government solution in search of a non-existent problem. Please vote against HB 1263!

Parents should have the right to homeschool their child. Each child is different and shouldn't be held to standards of other children. Parents should be the ones to decide what is best for their child for education. There are already policies in place to make sure the child is learning and progressing. That fact that schools get more funding for each child means principals are biased to get the child into their school.

Do not vote in favor of this intrusive bill.

This is nothing other than government overreach. Children preform on different levels and may not be meeting the “standard” requirement for good reason. What about students with learning disabilities, those with medical issues currently impacting their ability to learn, or students who enter a homeschool setting significantly behind. If abuse is the concern, there are other ways to address that issue without taking away parental schooling rights.

Why are publishing for strinbgebt academic standards? If you want to check something to prevent abuse, mandate child medical well visits. This is a knee jerk reaction, but in the wrong direction.

Government restrictions on home schooling will weaken the family unit. Home schools cannot legally be subject to more stringent policies than other schools. Home schools are real schools. Anyone can abuse any system, the masses should not be made to suffer for the crimes of the few.

My children go to school because THEY choose to.

I request that our representatives vote AGAINST HB 1263. this is a huge violation of our rights as parents.

This is a HUGE violation of parent rights. As parents when we choose to homeschool our children we take responsibility for their education and it is incredibly wrong to hold parents to a higher standard than your public schools are held to, especially when our children typically are more successful after graduating.

I love being able to teach my children at home and the ease of the state requirements is such a help especially for new homeschooling families and families thinking about home schooling.

God-given freedom is what has made this country great. Why take steps toward over regulation like every other failed nation? Our state motto is Live Free or Die. Need I say more?

This bill is not required or constructive for the home schooling community in New Hampshire. You need to spend your time on more needed issues.

This bill is a step backwards not forward. The claims that the superintendant of Burlin made regarding home school families are not only unfounded, they are rebuked by the growing positive statistics regarding home school children. What the school district is looking for is power, not protection.

Vote no on HB 1263. It represents more government intrusion into the lives of law abiding, tax paying NH citizens.

This is yet another abusive attempt by a few misguided or mal-intended state legislators to assert the will of the State upon the people who have chosen to educate their children without the “assistance” of the broken public school system. We understand these attempts to crush freedom never end, and we will always be prepared to defend our independence.

This bill puts excessive and poorly defined power into the State's hands.

A vote against this bill is a vote against education.
