No! I reject this bill and urge it to be disposed of. Please keep parental rights in choosing what is best for their child. This proposed bill is a gross overstep of rights and intrusion of freedom. Children do best when their learning needs are met at their own individual pace and level. There is no “one size fits all” when it comes to education. Parents who are involved and committed to homeshooling truly know their children best. We already have yearly evaluations in place to determine progress and methods of check in that are sufficient. It is an overstep of freedom and rights to take that further. Many families choose homeschooling because the “one size fits all” mentality does not suit their child. It should remain up to the parents, to determine what’s best for their child, not an overreaching authoritative power who has no knowledge of the child. Thank you.

I will leave this very simple statement. "These are our children, not our governments. There is no better teacher than a child's mother or father. We chose to have our children, and we will choose the education that is best for our children."

This is a bad choice for homeschool families. We work very hard at ensuring our children are getting the best education possible and more oversight or threatening to force my children into public school if they don’t meet better than public school standards is absurd.

As a new to Home school parents this year. We have been in the district. Our son misses way to much time do to medical needs. We had DCYF called on us. I feel these kids can get a better education at home. Our son is reading on his own now. He is reading things he likes and it is great. He is behind in alot of things. That is coming out of public schools.

Homeschooling is not a guilty until proven innocent style of teaching, at least not in the United States. It is unfair to treat NH homeschoolers as those who are criminals, instead of being treated as those who truly care about the educations of their children. We proved in 2012 that it was a waste of precious resources to expect all homeschoolers to report to the government, and we maintain that we continue to meet and exceed expectations as well as public schools do. This is an unfair bill that gives power to force children back into public school if they don't meet specific expectations that have not been defined, and that public schools are not held to either. It's just not the right thing to do, so please, do the right thing and vote NO on HB 1263.

This is insane. The government continues to want all control over our children. They want our children to depend on the gov't and not their parents. As we all know just by observation that the children who are being taught via Common Core are learning nothing that is appreciated by any thinking parent. I am a retired teacher & tell all my relatives with children at public schools to teach them especially good old fashioned math on the weekends. This is very sad & must be stopped.
