Reject HB 1263 NH Hostile Homeschool Bill

I wish I could home school. I love that people have this option.

As an educator, who is considering homeschooling, I strongly disagree with this bill.

Keep the government out of our homes and families.

Please vote against HB 1263. Thank you.

Live free or die. Keep government out of our homes. Their schools suck; they are in no position to judge us.

This bill is sponsored solely by 4 representatives from Coos County. Perhaps there are other problems with the educational system in that county to prompt such an unnecessary proposed change. There's no need to revert back to the old way; parents are educating their children perfectly well with the law as it currently stands. This bill would only serve to put further administrative burden on the participating agencies across the state with no benefit to them or the students who are receiving comprehensive education from their parents, as is their right. I oppose the house bill 1263. My grand daughter is home schooled by myself. She has intense anxiety and not able to take medicine and is unable to go to public school.

This looks like the law that was on the books till it was struck down a few years ago. Why would anyone want to bring it back? Bad idea, people. Bad idea.

This bill is ill conceived and harmful. It should be rejected

Please kill HB1263 and stop wasting everyone's time. Current NH homeschooling law works just fine.

Leave the NH homeschool laws alone

Homeschooling should not be singled out by having different evaluation requirements.

As a successful young adult who was homeschooled for her entire school-age life, I find this bill to be obtuse. Stop taking away parental rights from those who are actually making an effort with planning their child's learning.

Please vote Against HB1263! Homeschooling families are doing well under the current law.

This the government over stepping there bounds and is absolutely ridiculous. My kids thrive in a homeschool atmosphere and for them to have this taken away would be so detrimental. My wife teaches them more beneficial things in a week than the can learn in months at public school. They do this all in a safe and controlled environment which is beneficial for there learning and well being. I will do whatever it takes to make sure this bill does not pass.

The "third-party" overseeing this is the reason WHY the children are Home-Schooled in the first place!!

This bill doesn't take into account the nature of home education. Home education is a departure from the norm and is not easily compared or judged by traditional benchmarks. This nonconformity and departure from convention is home education 's greatest strength. It fosters creative and divergent thinking that conventional schools pay lip service to encouraging to but in practice stifle because of the ever increasing standards and testing culture that is being forced on public educators and the students they serve. Families should be able to choose a different education for their children without being held to arbitrary standards that despite their best efforts public institutions cannot uphold themselves.

This bill strips the rights of parents and puts decisions in the hands of the gov't, who are not capable of even educating the children, they already have control over (public school), adequately.
