Reject HB 1263 NH Hostile Homeschool Bill

New Hampshire, I was looking to relocate my young family to your beautiful state but these laws are making me reconsider. If you want more young people to move here, you should do away with these bills which make life unnecessarily more complicated and stressful to those of us parents who put our children’s best interests above a system that us unable to tailor learning to each student. I have a child who struggles with speech and writing. I’ve seen her self esteem plummet since starting kindergarten. She refuses to practice the alphabet because she feels stupid. I can see the defeat in her face. Doctors and speech pathologist haven’t been able to help her self esteem. It’s like the more attention we show the disability that’s all she can see about herself. So I am trying something new entirely. She’s an amazing story teller. She’s begging me to help her make videos like the kids on YouTube. I’m helping her learn to repeat and write by teaching her to write and act out narrative. I’m going to teach her script writing, directing, and producing in its most simplified form. Then as the main actress, she will need to rehearse her lines. The reward will be to see her finished project... not a grade. We don’t plan on posting it online, but that’s not the point. Her incentive will be self motivated and guided by me. This is how I tailor my kids education. They can learn tools, expand, and grow to be great members of the community. However, they may not meet your standards when you would like them. It’s a shame you’re discouraging such a beautiful way to grow up and virtually telling moms like me that our kids have to learn your way and just deal with the emotional degradation of a rigid system that doesn’t have the capacity to bring out the best in kids like my daughter. Let me set her standards.

Please respect my right to homeschool my children. Our district school has failed them and they are thriving at home.

How can they guarantee my child's safety if I am forced to send them to school instead of homeschooling them myself.

Not necessary. And, Unconstitutional.

Children and parents are suffocated by too much control and evaluations. For them to thrive we must trust them. For our society to thrive we must trust our citizens. No society based on mistrust can thrive.

When local schools are held to the same levels of accountability as homeschoolers then we will think about this until then the field is not level so the requirements should not be changed

Homeschooling is a choice reserved for the parents and parents only.

Live Free if Die should be at the heart of any bill in NH. Freedom should be paramount, not more regulations and termination of choices.

This bill is only gonna wreck our right to teach our kids.

This bill is a huge No-No!

I believe it’s not for the state to take care of our children.

As a taxpayer, we should be allowed a choice. Many schools academic programs are well under par. Forced public education only benefits the teachers union.

Who are YOU to put ME on probation if i dont educate MY child the way YOU would like me to?
