quite angry about Council’s complete disregard for public opinion after the “public hearing”

Council had clearly already made up their minds before hand. This public hearing was a complete and utter joke and nothing but a show to try and appease the public. We don't want high rises and more congestion, regardless of what the provincial government demands. City council serves us, not the other way around. End of story.

Needs a lot more discussion with the local public otherwise you will meet massive resistance. Elections are coming soon are they not!

If what i read in the optimist is correct, the city needs to take citizens concerns more seriously

A council is supposed to make decisions for the benefit of the people and not blatantly ignore and overrule what the majority wants. If you want towers, put them by Tsawwassen Mills Mall. They can blend in with the major development happening there, and people will have quick access to amenities, the highway, and they get ocean view there too. We don't need to wreck Tsawwassen itself and clog up 56th even more.

Agreed this a worthy cause and voices must be heard

The process is not only rushed but council has consistently ignored the voices of Delta residents and their concerns over the changes in the OCP. We Do NOT want towers. The infrastructure of Delta will not support these huge changes for development. Building plans must take into account the current infrastructure and what it will sustain. This is included traffic, parking, parks and rec, sewage, water, etc.

Densification of towers do not make sense as infrastructure around the area cannot support such development. Low rise development will ensure sustainable growth.

So many things went wrong with the City proposal. The City Council should server their citizens

High rises with 24 stories are too much. The corner of 12th Ave. and 56th sees a lot of accidents already. 4-6 stories seem more reasonable.

Not a well thought out plan, we don’t have the infrastructure in place to support this size

NO TOWERS

I’m not against development but this is over kill and will definitely impact the residents of Ladner and Tsawwassen. Major housing development are happening on First Nations lands, huge high rises in Tsawwassen, 6 story condos in the heart of Ladner and more. Too many developments all at once. Will plans be drafted before developments are built to correct the problems we are already facing now, traffic, parking, traffic light,etc. How are we going to get in and out of Ladner and Tsawwassen without major traffic jams. There are back ups problems already happening. Where are the extra soccer fields, baseball fields, ice /lacrosse arenas going to be built to accommodate the influx of people. Fields, facilities are already overcrowded. Parking is almost impossible around fields and facilities. More Police will be needed as they are now. Hospital, Doctors, all over crowed now. Who will these huge developments be helping? Will they be affordable? Goodbye to the village and community living of Ladner and Tsawwassen.

How could they possibly think introducing that many people to a town with only 3 lanes for traffic

Tsawwassen is a quiet suburb and not suitable for highrise buildings. Greedy developers could constrain the height to 10 stories which would still vastly increase traffic on roads not prepared for it.

I vehemently reject any residential or business tower construction in South Delta over 6 stories. I would prefer 4 stories but I see we already have a development in Tsawwassen with 6 stories.

Absolutely no 23 story towers are necessary - 6 stories are more than necessary to provide the necessary housing and still maintain somewhat of a community here in Tsawwassen. We all know none of it will be affordable for young people who are not privileged enough to have a helping hand.

Where’s the roads, hospitals,schools, tunnel…to support this development?
