Ladner is a quaint and historic town. To evict 3 small business, to assume a hotel is ridiculous. Clearly there was no public consultation on this matter and interesting enough Mayor Harvey professed himself a supporter of small business in a recent Delta optimist testimonial
This council has to go

Absolutely disagree with the plan to build a hotel in Ladner. The Council should spend some time talking to Ladner people to hear how many people think it’s a good idea.

I am disgusted this was even considered appropriate.

A tourist hotel is absolutely the last thing Ladner needs right now.

I don’t understand how water front property has been gifted first to a daycare and now to a hotel. There is a new hotel in Ladner already that is more than sufficient to meet the demand. We, the residents, have been looking forward to having a waterfront deck to enjoy a coffee or perhaps a glass of wine and a stroll enjoying some interesting shops. Small business owners should be given first consideration. Very frustrating!

Ladner does not need a hotel, please we love, the small businesses. You are destroying Ladner and will make it like every other community on the lower mainland ….shame on you

Don't destroy small business for your gain. That is why people come to Ladner for the quaint independent stores and scenery.

A pipe dream that will cost the city of Delta many many dollars. A nice row of shops in that area with possibly 2 stories of residential would be great.

I honestly don’t believe the current council is in favour of preserving the small eclectic town that Ladner is so well known for. Their recent plans for “improvements” seems more financially driven especially with their lack of acknowledgment of comments and concerns raise by Ladner residents.

I have a negative recollection of the Old Ladner Hotel. The nightmares of sleepless nights. A list too long of negative incidents, mostly late at night. I realize the city along with developers want more money coming in to support their projects. However in my opinion I have watched Ladner grow over the past 25 years and it is for sure become very crowded. We still have really only ONE access road in and out of Ladner. That most certainly will have to be addressed, I fear we will again loose more peaceful farmland or even the racetrack which IS Ladner. We are having our community placed jeopardy, we have to take back control.
This hotel idea is ill conceived. If anyone needs a hotel room there are plenty at the casino. Does the city even have expressions of interest for an operator for such a hotel.
