This is unbelievable. The progress and confidence of some of our young boxers has been directly associated to skills boxing, why on earth would you cap it off at 13?

I think it’s disgusting that England boxing don’t give us loyal clubs the chance to discuss/vote for it, personally I thought the age was set perfectly and had no problem with it, but now it’s been reduced I am very disappointed, I’ve got a show coming up which I have just been getting a couple of 13/14yr olds ready for there first skills, now it looks like I’m going to have to pull them off the show as there just not ready for a competitive bout, why would you wanna scare them off so early into the boxing journey

I’ve sent a comprehensive note to Lynette already -,essentially this will decimate the sport that EB all of us love. I’m already having to cancel a show as the boxers we have ready to compete with this new ruling has gone from 18 to 3. Please read this along with my FOI request.

It's hard enough for boxers to get in the ring at any age and skills bouts ease them into competitive bouts outside of their comfort zone.

Kids should have the option, by removing skills you're eliminating opportunities for aspiring young boxers

Skills are very important and we take on kids at 15 year old from nothing so to ask them just to jump in the ring and fight bouts it is very off putting and will course alot of upset with perhants too these kids need ring time also need time to get used to judge's . referees and just how general things work .if they just jump in doing bouts then that's alot of pressure .skills ring time and to settle in the big shows I do will give kids more convence .it's hard enought at min to get the kids fight for nervousness but that's are job to hopefully help them settle but this rule is not helping anyone ...

Skills are important for developing boxers who are not yet ready for competence bouts but need to get a feel for the ring

Really can't understand the logic behind this decision and with no prior warning either, a lot of time now wasted matching kids for up coming shows! Hope they re-think

Thought EB was about developing youngsters. Not just throwing them into the coldron. Skills bouts are a great introduction to boxing infront of a crowd
