i think that juniors should be able to compete in skills bouts as it can give them more of a fighting experience and a boost in further boxing fights.

Do not see any benefits for the young boxer to develop without having skills bouts

a retink needed on this, its unfair on the young boxers girls and boys, they need to learn and this is an ideal way for them to learn skills

I'm no coach and dont know much about boxing but my daughter is a young amature boxer and without the skills she did first I don't think she would have had the confidence to go in the ring for her first proper bout.

Think it should remain at 16 years
It's hard at any age to step in that ring, skills help confidence
And if you dont get that extra confidence before a real bout , it would be off putting to the child to say the least.

I think at any age before you have a open bout you need to step in the ring to get used to being infront of a crowd skills demonstration is the best way to inspire people safely into the sport

Is this the right decision ? I’m not sure and might have benefitted from wider consultations?

Some of these youngsters will be preparing for exams at a crucial time in there education, They choose to box as a relief and skills bouts play a key role in enjoying there chosen sports with out the additional stress of winning and losing. I honestly believe there are some adults out there that could do with a couple of skills bouts just to help improve confidence if not in the ring then in life. We will see our selves losing some great talent as a result of this decision.
