I just heard from the team at Bali Eco Stay that they are officially back on the platform. I never imagined this would actually happen but you all proved that a simple plea can change a company outcome. Please keep supporting them while they get back on their feet.

We write to you in order to get your clemency and get you to reintegrate the resort BALI ECO STAY on your website, booking.com.
Bali Eco Stay got blocked from your website a few months ago. The reason: they let a blogger use their backend to show how to improve a listing on Booking.com. The video was showing to hotel owners and managers tips on how to boost their listings, improve it and navigate through the tool. The aim was educational and was shared only among eco properties in Bali. But the video was public and apparently showing the backend of booking.com was not authorized.
Without a warning or letting Bali Eco Stay owner explain the situation, your team decided to block the property from booking.com.
At no point the intention was to criticize booking.com and the owner of Bali Eco Stay and the blogger had no idea it was not authorized.
Now, as Bali Eco Stay was heavily relying on booking.com to fill their rooms, they are facing a critical financial situation which potentially could lead to many employees losing their jobs if the property cannot bounce back.
Bali Eco Stay is one of the main supporter of the responsible tourism scene in Bali.
These are some of their actions they initiated to support the community:
- They took part in the creation of www.refillmybottle.com the map of water stations aiming at reducing plastic bottles
- They collect rubbish at their cost from the surrounding 6 villages and truck it to the local landfill for recycling.
- They built a library at the local school and teach English, dance and traditional music.
- They fund road maintenance projects in the area,
- They fund local sports teams.
We hope you will agree to reconsider your decision and decide that six months of ban is plenty as a punishment - we urge you to reintegrate Bali Eco Stay on your website,

I am honestly overwhelmed by how many people care about this small team in Bali. If we can reach that hundred mark quickly, it would really show the people at the top that this is a case worth reviewing.

I am a business owner here in Bali and I know very well Johnny. I am sure he had the best intentions. Hopefully we will see his beautiful eco property back on the great booking. Com Thx guys
Bali Eco Stay is a wonderful and responsible resort. An unintentional mistake seems to have been made, it may be prudent to show grace and enjoy the positive response this gives you.
I hope the site realizes the mistake and reconnects. I do not want to use booking.com again until Bali Eco Stay is back on this site. I'm also a regular customer of Booking.com, so I hope this can be rectified.
Please reconsider resisting Bali Eco Stay. This business is responsible for introducing many ecological and social benefits to the area. By punishing them in this way you are potentially punishing the locals as well from loss of income.
Even our area manager at booking.com provides us with information about how to improve our listing. I think the information sharing was done in good faith and the resort's only crime was in accidentally publishing it publicly. I think leniency is in order in this case.

Please reinstate Bali Eco Stay. They don't deserve to be penalised any longer. Thank you.

We use booking.com and certainly support reinstatement here. It was obviously a genuine oversight - you do not sabotage your own business by risking your major booking sources retribution.
