Crime in SA is out of control. Criminals don’t regard the present system as a deterrent to stop committing serious crimes. The death penalty must be re-instated for those criminals committing mass murders, armed robbery with aggravating circumstances , murders of farmers, and murders of elderly people , rape.

I support the reinstatement of the death penalty in South Africa because I believe stronger consequences are needed to address the level of violent crime in our country. For the most serious offenses, such as brutal murders, justice should reflect the severity of the harm done to victims and their families. I feel that bringing back the death penalty could act as a deterrent and help restore a sense of safety in our communities. While I understand there are concerns around human rights and the justice system, I believe this is a conversation worth revisiting for the protection of innocent lives.
