I support the reinstatement of the death penalty in South Africa for the most serious and heinous crimes. Our country is facing an unacceptable level of violent crime, and victims and their families deserve justice. I believe Parliament should seriously reconsider the current position and have an open, evidence-based debate about whether the death penalty should be available as a punishment for the most severe crimes, subject to strong legal safeguards and due process.
