I have known Brian L. Stewart for many years. His years of service to the community as a Law Enforcement Officer with the City of Fairmont as well as his years serving his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps speak volumes as to his character. He's not now nor has he ever been a card carrying member of the 'good ole boys network'. Quite the contrary! He does his job. He stands up for what is right & just. The outpouring of community support for Chief Stewart, who was an 'outsider' when he was approached to fill the position as Chief of Police for the City of Mannington, is overwhelming. He deserves to be reinstated & the good ole boys that saw fit to violate his rights need to go!

Mannington is turning into an embarrassment. It's a sad day when I have lived here pretty much my entire life and I'm ashamed to admit it!

Sounds like the mayor has small town syndrome - hate to be from a city that doesn’t respect the natives opinions.

Brian Stewart should be reinstated. He is an honest fair and by the book man. He does not lie and make those hold accountable for their crimes. He would never just arrest someone if they did not do anything wrong.

My dad has done nothing but protect and serve the community as he should! This is outrageous!!!

The police chief should have the right to defend himself. This is a man with an upstanding career in Law enforcement, whos reasons for termination weren’t disclosed. I think he has a right to fair representation in this matter

This man needs to be treated fairly. You’re elected officials, who represent the people of Mannington. Do your job, give this man his day in court.

Give the Chief a chance to defend himself. Everyone has the right to do just that. And if he has the evidence against the suspect. Then he should be arrested. And then he has the right to try and defend himself.

Pretty bad when a person gets fired for doing his job. That’s what happens when a mayor that gets voted in that was fired from being a city cop in Mannington himself and then a few years later sued the city of Mannington

Ive known him for years. Hes a very decent person and deserves to be reinstated. However, i wouldnt want to go back if i was him.

This was unconstitutional. Everyone is allowed due process to defend themselves. He was not given that choice. The mayor cannot face the public to explain why the decision was made. To chicken and call for executive session behind close doors. They need to go.

This was totally wrong, I'm sure he was probably getting push back for doing his job...upholding the law, holding people accountable for their actions and not showing favoritism or taking bribes.
