It would cost more to have the cage removed from the vehicle it's in, have the vehicles decal redone to cover the K-9 parts. And Hershey is obviously assigned a "partner" already, so he has housing, because these K-9 officers usually live with their handlers (partners). And with all the crank; meth and excessive amounts of drugs in this county, and being moved through this county, why is our Sheriff's office releasing a valuable asset that can assist in combatting that problem?

I am very sure there are other things that can be cut in this county than this patrol unit. County officials really need to look at the things that aren't working so well instead of taking away things that do work.

Seriously? How much are you saving by cutting back on dog kibble and a yearly vet bill?

most depts faced with expense issues have fund raisers too supplement k9 unit -dinners-chinese auctions etc!! it is pointless for the tax payers too loose a k9 that brings so much to the communitine it serves-his training cost to be justified means he has to stay working serving the citizens

How can we betray Hershey when Hershey would never betray us?

With the increasing number of drug busts in St. Lawrence County why on earth would we suspend an extremely valuable asset to the Sheriff's department, reinstate Hershey and the full capacity of the K-9 unit. This may be bold to say, but this abrupt move sounds like corruption to me.
Need K-9, not more transporters
Reinstate Hershey to the force, a job he loves.
