Experience is an asset for the teaching profession. However, the elderly (62 plus) often find the demands of teaching to be physically difficult.

Thanks for working on this issue. I fully support the effort.

Reinstate the rule of 90.

Teachers work hard. Giving them this back is just showing them you care for them as much as they cared for you.

I have 22 years in at the age of 45 with Rule of 90 I could retire at about 57 years old and 34 years or service. If I work until 66 it will be 43 years of service. Yikes!

This is so important! We need to do something for older teachers. Making them teach past the point of ability is not helping kids!

For the sake of teachers who have dedicated their life to the profession of helping others- please reinstate the Rule of 90.

This is a win/win situation for everyone, not just teachers. It would help attract new teachers into a profession that is slowly seeing its numbers decrease because people are not interested in being in such a demanding profession for so many decades. It would allow districts and taxpayers to save money by hiring younger, less experienced, less expensive teachers. Teachers who do not qualify for the rule of 90 will stay teaching longer, and your most tenured teachers typically are your more expensive teachers to pay.
