There was a reason the rule of 90 existed in the first place. It incentivizes young teachers to stay in the profession knowing they have to work to a reasonable age to retirement. For many, the road is now too long.

Teachers deserve this!

Absolutely! Since the advent of the Covid-19 pandemic, the stress level of teaching has risen dramatically. This small perk could keep many teachers from leaving the field.

Teachers with 30 or more years dedicated to education should be able to retire with full benefits when they reach the Rule of 90. The job has changed dramatically since 1989 and teachers have put in an extra effort during the pandemic. A retirement age of 66 after many decades of teaching is not appealing.

Without re-instating incentives like this, I think there will be a mass exodus from the teaching profession.

Let’s use the large surplus to bring back this needed plan for teachers.

Teachers take care of others throughout their entire careers. In turn, it's only right that others take care of teachers who have devoted their lives to their profession and their students as well.

It's imperative that the rule of 90 come back. OR something better than 62/30. How about 30 years of service benefit teachers better than 1000.00 a month. It's difficult to think you have to teach that long.

This would reduce the financial burden on districts so they would not have to support so many teachers at the top of the salary schedule and it would allow schools to diversify their teaching staff.

COVID-19 has taken its toll on the teachers. Teachers in their 60’s will most likely have metal health issues if required to work until 65.
