We need to consider teachers with the same veneration we do others who dedicate their lives to public service. Retirement is a delayed payment for devoting your life to the serive of our children. Forcing teachers to remain in the classroom while at the same time promoting ways to increase their stress by taking away the stability in the jobs make one wonder how much we value their work and who we will get to do this job in the future!

I actually was hired in May but the principal/and HR at the time didn't process my hire date until August making me 6 weeks shy of getting the Rule of 90 to apply to me

In the stressful world of today, it is imperative that some form of the "Rule of 90" be approved to save education.

The students of today come with so many emotional and basic needs not met... Which hinders their educational growth. Teaching today is so much more than instruction. We are exhausted. I'm not sure how good of a teacher I will be teaching to age 66.

Those of us that teach in urban districts, with the toughest kids and situations imaginable, cannot reasonably teach until 66. I'm 55, and don't know how much longer I'll be able to be an effective teacher.

I was able to retire at the age of 59 due to the Rule of 90. I then chose to work part time for my school district for the next 5 years. It's great to have choices!

Thank you for listening to all all of us educators. This is a great rule to reinstate. I feel this will help give teacher the incentive to remain dedicated to the teaching profession.

A teacher makes all the difference to the students in their classroom and community. Help MN teachers stay dedicated at the level our students deserve!
