Reinstate the Rule of 90. It's hard to find good quality teachers. Let's support and recognize the teachers we have now and recruit new teachers with the average age of retirement in other fields.

I think this should be reinstated for all public service workers. Why didn't they close the gap on this, if you missed Rule of 90 you are forced to work another 8-10 years to receive your full pension...Thats fair.

We're just asking for average. The average teacher retirement age in the US is 59. We're not asking for 55 like some surrounding states have. Just average. Surely Minnesota's governing officials care enough about its teachers to make this happen.

This was taken away when there was funding concerns. Now that there is funding available due to the surplus it is only fair to reinstate this for teachers.

Rule of 90 needs to be reinstated. It is unreasonable to have probation officers working in the field beyond the Rule of 90 and/our age 55.

It just makes sense.

Please reinstate the Rule of 90 so that teachers will have incentive to keep teaching instead of leaving the field early.

I missed the cutoff and I’m in my 30th year of teaching. To reach my full retirement age I would have to teach 41 years. I want to retire while I’m still a good teacher and making a difference in the lives of my students. I’m not sure I can do this for another 11 years.

The Rule of 90 should definitely be reinstated. Those of us who have worked over 30 years in the educational field have gone through so much change. Working during the pandemic was a very difficult time and took a toll on many teachers. By reinstating the rule of 90 more young educators can get into the field instead of us having to work until we are 65 or older.

It would be great to be young enough to start a new career. I have given up 32 years of my life to this noble profession, but I am curious to know if there is anything else I could do before death comes knocking on my door. Unfortunately with our current pension situation, I am tied down to teaching until I am my body and mind goes south.

Make the profession work for students and families. Allow older teachers to retire with the rule of 90 and younger teachers the opportunity to work. Make the profession appealing because it is hard work with little pay compared to our peers in other professions who have less education than teachers but make more money and can retire early.

I have had the rule of ninety for 5 years now. I’m 61 , have 43 years of service. I’m an educational assistant. I want to retire and feel that I’m being screwed out of the medical coverage that was supposed to come with my retirement.

This is one incentive that would help encourage more college students to choose teaching.
