There needs to be a good debate instead of people being paid by food companies.

Nina Teicholz has done a lot of research on the subject and can contribute. Why so afraid?

The removal of Teicholz from the commission is yet another example of a capitalist system run amuck, putting profit before the health of its citzenery

There's something wrong with food policy at an international level. The dietary metabolic diseases are increasing as food and diets have been reformulated in line with successive DGAC advice. There are obvious examples, such as advice to limit dairy fat, or eat a high-grain diet which is only half "wholegrain", itself a dubious definition, where DGAC advice runs counter to the most up-to-date and relevant evidence, and fails to take into accounts the metabolic reasons for the health threats which the population is increasingly exposed to. Differing interpretations of the evidence, and speakers willing to present ignored evidence, need to be included if food policy is to progress. Shutting down debate in order to repeat the same things we've heard before and which are failing to result in improvement is something that isn't worth encouraging or bankrolling.

This is a disgraceful decision and needs to be reversed we need objectivity on this committee not someone compromised by association with food industry.

We do not need more industry folks on the Food Policy Panel. They absolutely will not care about the health benefits of their products - they just want more money - at the expense of people's health.

Critical that contrasting and empirically based opinions are included in the debate on diet

What's the problem? Cognitive dissonance I suspect. If it isn't then prove it by reinstate Nina on the panel.
