Let's have a real debate from all sides. What are you afraid of?

Progress is not made by avoiding contradictory views.

Please restore Nina to the Food Policy Panel ....it is time to consider that our nutritional hypotheses are wrong, and take steps to correct them.

Surely divergent views ensures healthy debate and by implication better outcomes

Current guidelines are not working we need to find out why. Debate about the scientific evidence or lack of it is desperately needed. People are getting sick and dying due to vested interests. I've changed my diet and have reaped huge health benefits and so have my family. Current guidelines on low fat high whole grains diet evidently wrong.

Whose afraid of a different opinion? There is an enormous amount of evidence that the nutritional guidelines are based on bad science and industry interests. It's high time the world got a more balanced view.

Current dietary guidelines have failed. Let's explore new and better directions. Let her speak.

The Consumer Federation of America should be thoroughly ashamed of itself for cowardly bucking under to the scare tactics of industry backed establishment. The views of independent people like Teicholz are absolutely necessary for a robust discussion. Without these views, the panel is nothing more than a rubber stamp for the prevailing and outdated paradigm.

Not allowing her to participate would only perpetuate the endemic correction and professional prostitution.

Food & pharmaceutical companies are not open to profit compromising truths. Reversal of chronic 'diseases' using real food (low sugar, low starch) challenges their grip on the country through sugar- and glucose-laiden foods and drugs that merely treat the effects. This country needs to stop letting its own bad nutrition advice cost it money through healthcare, while industry players hang on to the ailing bodies like leeches. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/25287761/

I don't think that it should be an option for ANY existing or potential panel member to say ("vote") that they will not work with another potential member PRIOR TO a meeting happening. Otherwise, to be fair, it should also be possible for existing panel members to be dis-invited if they have the attitude above that is being taken towards Nina Teicholz. [It may on rare occasion occur that a new member is so disruptive that the panel's business cannot be conducted, but this is a situation that is very unlikely to happen.] The decision as to who will be on the panel should in this case be done SOLELY by Thomas Gremillion the event organizer. He has already recognized that "Teicholz’s book “The Big Fat Surprise: Why Butter, Meat and Cheese Belong in a Healthy Diet” makes a “compelling” argument and the organization hopes to include her on a panel next year." Unless the above change is done, then the same type of exclusion could occur again next year where industry insiders can refuse to work with a prospective panel member who does not buy into the (in my opinion) belief that a low fat high carbohydrate diet is optimal when the evidence is mounting not just from Teicholz that this has been a gigantic mistake for at least the last 30 years.

As T2 diabetic, I have lost weight and lowered my A1c from 6.7 to 5.8. using the lchf diet Nina Tiecholz espouses. Would not have learned of it were it not for her. The T2 standard diet I was prescribed was impossible for me to stick to and did nothing for my blood glucose levels.
