Once again the ECB refuses to allow independent individuals who give character and great performance to the england team. It was the same with David Gower - we need brilliant mavericks in the team, not just well-behaved 'team players'. Pietersen scored more runs than anyone else in the recent Ashes competition. I would have sacked Cook, Bell & Root and sent them back to their counties to prove themselves before being re-selected.

I suggest you also set up a 'reinstate KP' facebook page.. I for one beleive he will come back, and that he shows sentiment that he genuinely wants to do so.

It is so unfair to make KP the scapegoat for England's disastrous tour in Australia. Graham Gooch scored 14 os his test centuries at the age of 33 or over, and I am sure KP had plenty more runs in him at test and one day level. KP has made errors of judgement in the past, the 2012 text messages scandal notably, but Cook had been keen to reintegrate him and KP played some key innings after that time. I fear that this appalling decision has been made out of spite and a desire to find a scapegoat. You don't drop a brilliant batsman with over 8000 runs and an average of 47 especially when all the top seven batsmen had a poor Ashes series. I hope the new coach will want KP back in the fold, but I fear the ECB will settle on someone who doesn't value KP. A good captain and coach should have the ability to manage lots of different personalities. Think of Mike Brearley and how well he handled such diverse characters as Botham, and Boycott. As Michael Vaughn says, you don't want a team full of clones and yes-men. England need a maverick like KP who can turn matches on their head with his positive batting. At just 33, he is far too young to be sacked like this. What a waste, and how sad to think that KP will now never have a final send-off in the way that Sachin Tendulkar did in India recently.

Are the ECB auditing for FIFA? Sacking our best player, what a joke! Clearly a decision made by those, who have never had the talent KP does, what about the fans that have already purchased tickets for this summer’s games expecting to see KP, will the ECB be offering a refund????

Right now English cricket has died. Please god can anything be done about this? Cook and Flower were too insecure because KP clearly knows more about the game and tactics etc. He should be captain and Cook sacked along with Flower. For the last 10 years I have witnessed some of the most amazing cricket from KP and love to watch every innings he plays. I dont even want to watch England play until it's resolved you have killed cricket ECB the game I love more than football. Bring him back !!!!!!!!!!!!! NOw we have the most negative , boring bunch of farts to watch cricket...Only players left with any respect are Broad, Stokes and Bell.

Try to understand ~ this is a GAME and fans are the ones who count - not those such as has been wicket-keepers who believe they are God!
He has done nothing to deserve being axed and a player I have looked up to for years who plays exactly the attacking brand of cricket that has made English cricket so successful in the past decade. Axing him is going to send us bark to the dark ages of the mid 90s all over again

Cook is a weasel. We lost the ashes 5-0 and the one day series under his reign. Despite the win in India we have steadily declined under his leadership. KP is our best player, the best batsman to ever player for england. Hes the only one i'd pay to watch. WOnly in england would you sack ur best player after the worst series defeat in years.
