BHSC Members' Call to Reinstate Jon Sarosiek and Samantha Strong

In over 17 years of being a member of the BHSC, the facility is the best that it has been in my time here, due in large part to Jon and his engaging and kind personality & innovative ideas. And, Samantha has been a tremendous addition to the sports club community, and to membership recruitment. Both of these individuals are the epitome of what members want in leaders of this club. Their dismissals are unacceptable! If these decisions are not reversed, and other appropriate actions taken, we will be taking our membership elsewhere!

Jon Sarosiek is the kind of person who will make each and every BHSC member feel that they MATTER. His dismissal was extremely concerning, particularly given the climate of our nation as a whole, a time of division, uncertainty, and distrust. UVA Foundation needs to be better than that. As "members" of a club, we expect more transparency than we've been given. In part, due to Jon's leadership, I also expect to feel like I MATTER. And if I don't feel that, I too will freeze my membership until such time that the foundation reassesses and reconsiders their actions.

Rebecca. What kind of changes were you all proposing? I can’t understand letting go very good employees because they proposed changes! That’s not in anyone’s interest!

Jon and Samantha simply stated are the best. I cannot recall a single negative interaction with either of them. And in fact, I only recall incredibly caring, thoughtful, hard-working, sincere, honest interactions. It is mindblowing to think that they would be fired with such exemplary work performance and zero issues in their HR files. You must reconsider.

I would like Samantha Strong and Jon Sarosiek to come back to Boar's Head I do not demand that Russ Cronberg be dismissed. Counseled yes!

Jon and Samantha are the pillars of the Boar’s Head Sports Club, proven with their strong work ethic and highest values. It is not too late. Reinstate them now.

I worked with Both Jon and Samantha . I was The Restaurant Chef for Racquets and Birdwood. Myself and Tim CONTI The Banquet Chef were let go September 24/25 For wanting change within the Culinary Department. Jon and Samantha were both there for us. In the end it was Russ, The F&B director, The HR director and The Executive Chef. That let us go. Jon and Samantha we’re always there for us! Russ should resign and The HR Director should resign!

Sam is one of the main reasons we joined. I am confused and disappointed in the unprofessional letter that members received yesterday. This is absolutely unacceptable.

I hope this will prompt management to greater transparency and accountability.

I will certainly be freezing my membership if not resolved by the UVA Foundation.

I am quite concerned about the circumstances around these events. I have known Jon for over 15 years at both Wintergreen and now Boar’s Head and he has been a stellar performer at both institutions. The lack of transparency is concerning

I'm sure things could be worked out maturely with calm determination to work together.

100% agree with this petition and am in complete agreement to reinstall Jon and Samantha to their positions at BHSC.

No one understands how terminating Jon and Samantha after years of stellar and extraordinary work performance and zero issues in their HR files is fair and just. Please help us understand.

Two of this club's most valuable employees have been terminated for no objective reason except what appears to be power politics.

PLEASE RECONSIDER your dismissal of the finest professionals at Boars Head.

BHSC really needs Jon and Sam. It is mind boggling to see them treated this way period, but especially without a satisfactory explanation.
