Reinstate Jason Eastman as Glencoe High School’s varsity softball coach

Very poor decision on the part of Glencoe and HSD once again. Good luck finding a coach like Jason who has done nothing but continued to grow and build this amazing softball program. This is a total disservice to these athletes and future athletes!

I was both surprised and disappointed in this decision. Many lives have been and will be effected. Jason is an excellent coach with high standards and great compassion for the game and his girls.

Jason coached my daughter for years in ASA. He is an amazing coach, and an incredible person. I am teacher in the district ; this is a horrible reflection on the administration.

Jason is a great coach and is great for the community! He is the face of softball in Hillsboro.

I have been impressed with his coaching as I watch him practice with his team while my daughter practices with her team. I would love for her to play for him!

I have known Jason for many years as a coach for Hillsboro Girls Softball Association and Thunder Softball. He has ALWAYS shown that he has the best interest of the players and the programs in his heart. He is a great coach and all around good person. It sounds like he has gone on to do amazing things as the Glencoe HS varsity softball coach. To be dismissed with out cause or explanation from the school district is bad form! It would be a shame for them not to reinstate him but if they don't I believe he will go on to do great things!

Jason is a man of high character being persecuted by “leadership” whose job he was doing for them.

Jason is an incredible coach and leader in our community. He's an inspiring coach that's kind to all and truly cares about the kids he coaches.

Glencoe's athletic department has been in a downward spiral since Jacy departed for other opportunities (and arguably since coach Ellis retired). Jason has been a pinnacle of the Glencoe athletics since then enforcing the ideals and values essential to student athletes and creating winning teams. These coach's are paid paltry amounts for the work that they put in and Jason has gone above and beyond to fundraise over $100k to build new facilities for the girls as well as aid the student athletes in receiving scholarships to attend college and play at a collegiate level. This small town is getting out of hand with the good ol boys society! Make a stand for what is right

As a neighborhood gramma, I've been attending softball games for the last 4 years. I've thoroughly enjoyed seeing the team spirit (and success) and the growth of the program overall. (Love that turf!) If there is an issue, it appears that the administration has shown a significant lack of communication with Coach Eastman, the team, and the parents.

My sister is a multi-sport athlete at Glencoe High School, and has had the privilege of playing for Coach Eastman. She loves playing for him, and talks about how he is a good coach and role model, and also about how much he has done for the softball program at Glencoe. I am also a former baseball player (and umpire) and know first hand how much of an impact a person like Coach Eastman can have. When I heard about this decision from my sister, not only was she incredibly disappointed and frustrated, but I too was disappointed with the decision, especially given the unprofessional and shady way this decision was made. Not only does this decision not make sense from the perspective of continuing a successful program, but quite frankly it is unfair not only to him, but to the athletes, parents, and fans. The reasons the administration gave for this decision were incredibly vague, which is also unfair to the coach, athletes, parents, and fans. Given the success and impact Coach Eastman has had, at the very least everyone involved deserves a legitimate explanation. With the way this has been handled, one can only assume this was a biased decision by school administrators on a power trip. I will continue to support the athletes and the teams at Glencoe high school, but I will be very honest with the unprofessionalism and lack of transparency by the principle, athletic director, and district director when I talk about the school publicly and privately. I believe and will encourage the athletes to speak out about this, and I hope the administration can learn the value of transparency and fairness in the future.

Fire the AD instead...SMH.

Never been on any team with him as a coach, but he sounds amazing and we need more like him.
