My son and I rode the lift at Targhee the other day with a couple from Ohio and they mentioned that they have spent a lot of time going to Deer Valley over the years but this year they came to Jackson and Targhee. They were going on and on about how they loved the way Targhee had preserved the forest and FAMILY feel. Please keep it that way. I also have relatives that drive from Montana to Targhee because of the family season passes. They said if Targhee does away with the family pass they will find a ski hill closer to home instead.

Please keep the family pass. It will enable families to have a wholesome, uplifting activity who would otherwise be unable to participate. I know the bottom line is profit, but I believe you will lose so many families that you lose more money than you would gain otherwise.

This will keep MANY families off the slopes. Maybe Targhee thinks that's a good thing. However, I see three negative results:
* A lot of local kids won't learn to ski. Thus, Targhee is cutting off future patrons.
* Kids will be sent to the slope without their parents because the adult passes are so much more expensive than the youth passes. In my experience, kids skiing with parents act more responsibly than teenagers skiing just with peers.
* Locals won't develop a love for the area. Let's face it, our winters can be cold and miserable if you don't have some reason to look forward to snow days.
I acknowledge that Targhee has been offering a fabulous opportunity for families via the Family Pass and I urge them to reconsider the decision to take it away.
