Reinstate funding for Skomer Island's Guillemot monitoring

Was on skomer 1st of June with what happened to the Guillemots in the recent storms they need all the help going I think it is a disgrace to stop funding.

Don't stop the funding for this important monitoring!

Please, please, please reverse the decision on cutting funding for the seabird monitoring study on Skomer. This has come at the worst possible time for these birds, numbers of which were decimated by the winter storms in the Atlantic. It is imperative that we continue this valuable work to stop the decline in these birds. Many thanks.

At a time when key breeding colonies are being faced with food shortages and the potential impact of hundreds of offshore wind turbines on feeding and migratory routes, we should be putting more money into monitoring, not axing it altogether.

Prof Peter Matthews, chairman of NRW, apparently "Chemist, Water and Environment Manager, and Environmentalist". Perhaps this "Professor" doesn't view this 40+-year study as being 'scientific' enough? Shame on NRW.

Please carry on funding this project.

It is so important that such a long-running data set must continue to monitor seabird populations.

Given the awful impact on UK seabirds of the past winter's storms, there couldn't be a worse time than now to cut research funding into Guillemots.
