As a former warden of Skomer I am appalled that Natural Resource Wales has deemed fit to cut funding fo research being undertaken on one of the countries flagship nature reserves.

Whilst we all know money is tight in some areas it still makes it a mistake to stop funding and invalidate the years of valuable study done already. I invite NRW to comment on this study and their future investments for other studies, and let us all know what their future plans are.

Long term monitoring is essential to understand effects of natural and man-made changes on seabird populations. NRW must understand the value of such projects, both nationally and internationally. Shame on them!

How can an organisation charged with caring for Wales' natural resources do so without sound scientific evidence about it?
