Please reconsider your decision to cut the funding for this very important piece of ongoing research.Seabird populations around the UK are under stress at the present time. It is essential to gather the scientific data to gain a true picture of their numbers. This work is exactly the kind of project which should be fully supported.

It's vital to continue this sort of long term monitoring in order to be able to see the effects of climate change and to understand how best to protect this species and it's habitat. The funding required is a relatively small amount in terms of the overall budget.

I work on Skomer and know how important this study is. To cut the funding at this critical time, after the winter storms and with climate change accelerating, is ludicrous!

How are we cutting funding for long term sea bird research when sea bird colony's are collapsing in Britain. We need monitoring of our seabird colonies more than ever.
