You don't kick someone off the team because you disagree with a decision. If the attendance policy is the real issue, it was not handled correctly and the coach needs to be reinstated.

Why is the BOE dragging their feet on rehiring coach D.

I had the honor of coaching against Coach D in the 2020 State Final. From the time that we greeted each other on deck until we shook hands after the meet was over, Coach D was all class! During the meet, you could feel the level of respect and love that Coach D and his girls had for each other. He willed them to do their best for themselves, their teammates, the school and the community with enthusiasm and spirit. At the end of the meet, after the outcome was decided, not only did Coach D congratulate the swimmers on their win but he also came over to the Moorestown parents and fans and congratulated them as well. He passed along words of appreciation for their outpouring of support for our program. The following week at the Meet of Champions, he actually went out of the way to talk to representatives from Moorestown High School who qualified for the meet. He talked about to them about their races from the previous weekend and wished them well in their upcoming races. The gentlemen exudes class and professionalism. He is a great ambassador for Chatham Swimming, the athletic program, the school and the community. The man deserves to keep his job! John Battersby Moorestown High School Girls Swimming

Let's reinstate Frank DiGiacomo Head Coach of Chatham Swimming. He is amazing! We want him back.

I have nieces and nephews who swam for Chatham Coach D. His leadership and fairness presented a lasting role model to emulate.

1966 Graduate. Reinstate him .

Best coach ever. He coached two of my kids. This man has That rare combination of heart, compassion, and Technical and motivational gifts. The kids love him. The parents love him. The teams win (but this is less important than everything else he brings to these athletes). He changes lives for the better. He’s one of those coaches/teachers that adults look back and say “that guy made a huge impact on my life when I was a teenager, and I am grateful”. Please Reinstate this wonderful man! Chatham is a better place with him than without him.

When I joined the swim team I wasn't a fast swimmer, I was often one of the slowest but I still received just as much praise and encouragement from Coach D as any other swimmer, fast or slow. He made me and everyone else feel capable and confident of ourselves, that as long as we worked hard and did our best he was proud of us. I remember sitting in the bus to so many swim meets, listening to him talk and pump us up and give us lessons not just on swimming well but on living well and being truly good people. He inspired every one of us to do better, and being on the swim team was one of my favorite things to do. When we had banquets or food as a team, he'd talk to all of the team members and ask about their lives and dreams and encourage them to pursue them. I talked to him about my college plans, and he had friends who had gone or teached at some of the schools I was considering and could give me an idea of what those schools were like. I told him about my dream of mechanical engineering or becoming a pilot and he made me feel like it was totally possible and and amazing dream to follow. He did that for every person on the team, and there was never a time I felt anything negative towards him at all. He ran a good team and as already said many times, he brought the chatham swim team to victory time and time again. That was possible because of Coach D, bringing out the best of all us and believing firmly that we could win. Firing Coach D is a serious mistake, especially without another coach lined up to take his place. He's affected hundreds of lives positively, through everyone he's taught as their coach.

Correct this mistake and rehire coach D!

Coach D coached two of sons who love him dearly. He is one of the best coaches and human beings we ever met. Reinstate him please!

Coach D made my high school swimming experience I have never had so much fun and worked so hard under any coach. He brought the team together and made us a big family. I am so glad for my time under him and I hope every swimmer can experience a coach like Coach D.

His resume says it all! Apparently, lack of practice doesn’t hurt the team. Also, I’m sure some of the kids are swimmers at club teams who practice almost every day. Be smart and bring him back.

I believe that the CHS principal will do the right thing and reinstate Coach D.

Great Coach - follow the rules and there are no problems. so somebody could not compete because they did not attend the practices and you want to fire the coach because he enforced the rules? shame on you Chatham Admin

One of the best swim coaches ever...my daughter loved swimming and competing for him. The attendance policy, at least for year round swimmers, allows them to compete for their high school and swim with their school friends, without disrupting their club training and also opens up the lanes at the high school pool for the non club swimmers during practices. Without the attendance clause, many year round swimmers would me unable to compete at the high school level because of the conflict with their club schedules and the amount of training club swimming requires. If non club swimmers are purposely missing practices, then please give Coach D the opportunity to rectify the situation. We are all hurting through this pandemic....let’s not further hurt these kids by removing their coach.

What in the world is the CHS administration thinking about, in these troubling times for our students. Just when all of the students need positive influences from all of their teachers and coaches they decide not to rehire one of the most positive influences. It’s time for the CHS administration to set an example for our children and admit their wrongdoing and sit with coach F and discuss how this situation can be rectified. It is the only thing to do in these difficult times for our children.
