The only high school coach that I've seen that cares so much for this program and these kids that he has plans for 10 years in the future. He's not coaching for the money or the glory, he just lives to help these boys succeed. He spent hours each week during season making highlight videos for each kid, just to inspire them! You aren't going to find that kind of dedication in anyone else, and that's just a portion of what he's done for this program.

MHS you need to rethink your position. At least give a reason for letting go of this great coach. You need to be accountable for your actions not politically correct.

Shane Needham is the epitome of what a great coach should be--honest, honorable, hard working and extremely inspiring! It is preposterous to even think of throwing that away.

I might not be a wrestler, but Coach Needham did so much for our volleyball program as well and we wouldn't have had such an amazing senior night without him this year.

I am an elementary PE teacher and I can tell which students have gone through his program. They have excellent form, balance, and stance plus a will to continue and try hard. I hope MSD asks themselves if they have done right for the students or themselves?

Shane is a great coach, but let's set that aside for the moment...
Look at him as a man. He is someone who holds the best interest and values of his kids higher than any success on the mat ? Absolutely! He instills character, values, morals, dignity, and more importantly, how to be a man into the life's of young men.
Opposing coaches see the value that Shane has for the MHS program, and much work he has put in to put them in the map. This success they have recently seen, never was about him. Its about giving the kids an avenue to find success and build self value through hard work and dedication.
Now let's Bring the recent success back in. I coached against Moscow for 4 years at a rival school, and now I am at a league for. Shane has built the Bears into a formidable foe, something you haven't had for quite some time. The other coaches see it, but more importantly his kids see it. Sometimes it takes years to do what Shane has done, and he and his men did it in a very short amount of time, and they will easily only get better. The Admin staff of MHS is so willing to throw away something that is so phenomenal for its kids because of a "personality difference"? Shane have his paychecks back to the SD and worked because he loves this sport, and what it can teach so much! Maybe the administration staff should be let go, it seems like they don't have the kids best interest at heart.I would be lucky for my son to participate under Shane's direction, but would cringe at the thought of the same Administrators being in control of his education and athletic participation.
Shame on you MSD! You have sold your soul and values and fired a man that has done nothing but give back to the community. What's next cut the program? I'm glad we moved to CDA from Moscow so my kids would have to be affected by these same "leaders" in the district.

This man is a great man. A man of greatness of teaching and coaching. He has sculptltted the squad with swag and dank status. Every time I'd see him I'd nod and blow a ring off my mod so phat it needs two seats on a plane. Everything from his knowledge of form and abstinence from the boys taught my son how to wrangle with the young men till he was hot and sweaty from dominating the league. His incandescence was only matched by his love of building muscle mass

This man not vastly improved the teams success in a short time but he made men out of boys. He is able to use wrestling as a means of teaching valuable life lessons, and not just drive students to win on the mat.

Truth be told, I had no interest in wrestling 4 years ago. However, after three years of having my sons wrestle under Coach Needham's tutelage, I am convinced that wrestling has the potential to help mold my boys into the men I want them to become. Shane Needham has the passion, will, and graciousness that I want in a wrestling coach at the high school level. He is the difference between a wrestling program that is a "must do" and one that is a "never ever." If Coach Needham isn't involved, neither are we.

To see where Shane has taken the wrestling team in one season is utterly amazing. He has put Moscow High back on the radar in the wrestling world. More importantly though, he has taught these boys how to work hard, and how to be honorable young man. He has created an environment where the boys pull for one another's successes. They are family...And they have become a Band of Brothers. I have yet to see that in any of the other sports that my kids have been involved in. To remove probably the greatest coach that we have In our school district is a very foolish move. We should be celebrating alongside him and appreciating what he brings to our school, kids and town.
