Not surprised yet again with the stupid decisions made by government. I personally believe every child no matter how close or far they live from school should be issued with a bus pass. In this day and age with the traffic, child molesters, bashings etc our government needs to take the first steps to ensure each and every Australian child is able to attend and return him from school in a safe manner. Back on to the subject, has the paper pushers seen where this school is situated? Just off A main road, in an industrial area with not only cars but bans, buses, trailers, urea and trucks continually passing by. My question to you is "would you allow, feel safe, feel comfortable, be at ease with your children having to battle all of the above"? No one would be able to convince me there is not enough in our budget to accommodate the free bus passes. Shame on you and shame on our country for not trying to take the first step in maintains our children's safety.

With no crossings ANYWHERE near the school there is not a single safe area for children to cross from Currans Hill or Mount Annan. what exactly has the DOT done to ensure the safety of our children???

The safety of all students is paramount. A heavy use industrial area is not suitable or safe for students from the age of 11 years to be walking through. You have a duty of care to guarantee the safety of students. Please reinstate bus passes for all students at Magdalene Catholic High ?School.

My kids are not directly affected by this but do attend the school. I see first hand how dangerous the roads are surrounding the school. The amount of trucks that are going through the industrial estate and the traffic on Narellan road is ridiculous. You cannot expect children as young as 11 & 12 to have to risk their lives just walking to and from school. The extremely large roundabouts at the intersection of waterworth drive is even more dangerous to cross as their is no safe option. It is a roundabout that is constantly busy, particularly at the times children would be making their way to school. The bad passes need to be reinstated, and fast before, heaven forbid a tragedy occurs!

My children are not of school age but I have been past the high school and can't believe children would be required to walk to school through busy roads and an industrial area.

My kids go to magdalene & there is no way I will let them walk home from there!! They would have to walk thru the industrial area with all the trucks & their is always heaps if traffic!! To try & cross the road would be just stupid!! We need the free bus pass reinstated !! With laying school fees there is no way I can afford fees for bus passes.

No child or family should have to pay for a Buspass when it is mandatory for them to attend school, especially for these kids who are expected to walk that distance that's expected & with the heavy bags on their backs. Will you be responsible for their back injuries?

Don't be ridiculous about this _ It's obvious it's a bad move for government to do this. Safety of kid v's Misguiided Parliamentarian who made a decision with out knowing the facts !- Baa!

All of our children have the right to safe access to school. There is no safe route to or from Magdalene.

Forget government policy, come out here to the southwest corridor of Sydney. See the development of business and housing first hand and realise a mistake has been made. I know if it come down to a conscious vote, you would realise that government policy has got it wrong. Now it's the governments turn,to right the wrong being done.

While radial distance is fine to use in some circumstances, location and safety must be considered in all individual school locations. Children who have been excluded come from several different surrounding suburbs none of which have a safe walking route!!

The radial distance should not be used as a determination to withdraw bus passes. MCHS is located in an extremely busy industrial area with limited pedestrian facilities.
