Reinstate Ashley Behrens as Town of Brookhaven Animal Shelter Director

Please don't become a kill shelter again. It bis barbaric and unnecessary!

Having been a Suffolk County resident now for 50 years, I remember when the TOB Animal Shelter had a shameful reputation as a KILL Shelter. I was overjoyed & felt so proud when I heard that TOB Animal Shelter was now a NO KILL Shelter. Why in Gods name would you go backwards in becoming a KILL Shelter again. Please, I & my peers are begging that you don't go the KILL Route but rather show that you are still a leader among the nations Animal Shelters by staying NO KILL!

So upsetting at what apparently is happening now at this shelter. This shelter had been exemplary here on LI with staff and volunteers who cared and worked hard to get animals adopted. There were always people going to adopt because they knew it wasn't the norm for animals to be euthanized. Many people cannot take going to a municipal shelter because they don't want to see animals that they have to worry about being put to sleep if they don't adopt them. People felt good coming here and now they are killing dogs unnecessarily. Please reinstate Ashley Behrens. If she won't come back hire a new compassionate Director whose goal is to save as many as possible!

Please reinstate her. The animals need someone who truly cares and loves them in the position.

It's time this business Arena which is an enormous Arena, by the way, is handled with her professionalism and integrity and responsibility that she has shown and proven. It's enough of the secret hidden greedy agendas... All on the backs of our poor defenseless animals. It's time for the new regime of wisdom, moral and ethical integrity and responsibility, Humanity, compassion, and justice for every animal who is unfortunate enough to enter animal shelter doors. I don't understand the pushback of making something better ... as it should be. Where is the Integrity that should be a part of this Arena. It will be one of the biggest social movements of our time and it's growing in droves. My suggestion is to get on the right side of this and be honorable and show pure intent now. Make the proper ethical and moral choice and have good intentions. She was wonderful. She should remain there

Forced resignation not ok. Putting animals down by new admin beyond not ok. Asking for compasionate empathic admin please.

Currently lives are being ended when a FREE adoption saves a life and the shelter the cost of euthanasia. And it's the right thing to do, killing God's creation is wrong

Whomever has replaced Ashley has absolutely no compassion! Compassion for the animals should be an absolute requirement for a shelter director. No-kill works. Please reinstate Ashley so that the animals and community may continue to benefit from her work.
