This petition is created to lobby Scouts Victoria to reinstate Alex Hayes.
We are lobbying scouts Victoria to reinstate Alex Hayes after they removed his membership based on a lie and no evidence and against Scouting policy. They have been offered multiple times to meet and discuss, provided factual evidence but denied and hid behind a lawfirm who condones behaviour that is similar to bullying. They are refusing to grant Alex's membership back and will not list why.

The silence from the leadership team remains deafening while they continue to hide behind their lawyers. I am reading every single comment here and it is clear that people see through the lack of transparency in this decision.

Seeing this level of support for Alex confirms that I am not the only one who sees the injustice in how he was treated. This momentum shows that people refuse to look away when a good person is pushed out of the organization for no reason.

Alex Hayes was enrolled in Scouts as a (very cute) little boy. Scouts taught him about altruism - selflessness and working hard to help others (as his scout leaders did). He went on to make outstanding contributions to Scouts, becoming the Leader of the Mornington Peninsula District. Alex has been an amazing leader and representative of Scouts. He has the respect and gratitude of all the scouts he has been involved with. Alex was living the values taught to him by Scouts as he was growing up, when his generous actions were used against him. Now Scouts refuse to reinstate his membership. Hey Scouts! How about living the values you teach? Reinstate this admirable young man!
They have breached state and federal discrimination law, ignored their own policy and acted unbecoming of the scout law and promise.
It breaks my heart to see the injustice that is happening to such a dedicated young man.
Please reinstate Alex Hayes, he should never have been removed!!
Alex could contribute a lot to the world and our youngsters if he's given a chance.
We met Alex through scouting, and has become a major part of my family. He is such an asset to the scouting movement, and Im saddened at the thought he may never return. This is a very unfair and biased decision.
Do the right thing Scouts Australia re instate Alex Hayes.

Please reinstate Alex Hayes. He was always so much more than a scout leader, he was a role model to all youngsters in his care. The energy and enthusiasm he brought to scouting is precisely what the movement needs if it is to appeal to young people in the 21st century.
