Agent Linares is back at her post and our school feels whole again. Seeing her walk through those doors this morning was the relief our children and families needed after such a long struggle. Thank you for staying by my side while we fought to bring her home.

On Tuesday, February 2 our Security Agent, Rosa Linares was removed from our school.
Parents had no notification why this was done and still have no explanation.
As you know we are an elementary school with over 1,000 young children. Agent Linares has been an integral part of our school for 9 years. Her knowledge of the inner workings of our school and the care she takes to know all of the children and parents by name is unrivaled and is very helpful in maintaining the calm and secure atmosphere at our school. She has always been a big help to the administration, teachers and staff as well as PS 24 families. She has never been sick or late her entire time serving our school. She is a vital part of our school community. Agent Linares works very hard and is always very dedicated to the school.
Our school has been through a tumultuous year so far with the loss of our principal and our annex that houses our 5th grade. Our students need and deserve the stability which Agent Linares provided to our students every day.
Please reconsider this decision and reinstate her as soon as possible. The last thing our school needs is an additional element of instability and change in the front door security personnel. Our children miss Rosa already and as the first point of contact at the school her absence is greatly felt.

Seeing this groundswell of support for Rosa is proof that our school community refuses to accept her sudden removal without an explanation. Her presence brought a stability to our children that we cannot afford to lose and I am truly moved by how many of you recognize her incredible dedication.

The silence from the district remains deafening while our children continue to ask why their favorite face at the door is gone. I am still pushing for a meeting with the administration to demand the explanation we deserve. Please keep reading the comments because each one reinforces why Rosa belongs back at our school.

Unless she resigned or retired in a decision that was exclusively made by her, Ms. Rosa must be brought back. In addition, a reason for her dismissal must be given to this tight-knit community which counts her as a very important member.
Last week one day, while I was getting my child 5 minutes early for her doctor's appointment, there was no one at the security desk when I walked out of school front door with her. Ms. Rosa would've never let this happen on her watch.
Rosa knows all of our children by name and face. Many parents have taught our children to go to Rosa if they have a problem. She is a safe place. She greets them everyday with a smile and is still smiling at the end of the day. Bring Rosa Back!
I've trusted Rosa with my child since she started at PS24. She knows our children, loves and cares for them like we would. Please bring her back. She was the reason why i sat at work daily knowing my child is in good hands. -Kylie Acosta's Mother
Please bring Rosa back! Another decision made with no notice or explanation to parents. She knows and greets the children and parents by name. She makes the children feel welcomed. So many children go to her first when something is wrong because of their comfort level with her.
My daughter was one of many children who loved Miss Rosa. At the very least, the parents deserve an explanation.
Please reinstate Rosa Linares she has been a great part of PS24, She always made me feel welcome and watched out for my kids, Coming to school in the morning and being welcomed by Ms. Rosa makes us all feel lucky like family (protected,happy,safe), She is very much needed and missed, knows all the kids and parents by name, and is so warm and loving. School is the second home for our kids and without her I don't feel the same with my kids in there, now they always asks me -where is Rosa? Mom we want to see her, I want her back with tears on their faces, my heart breaks every time they try to ask me for her with their sad faces, We are very upset that Ms. Rosa an integral part of our family is no longer there. Bring her back please, Rosa we miss you and love you a lot, we want you back :,(

Rosa is an invaluable resource at PS24. She knows every student and every parent, keeps the students safe and keeps the day glowing in an orderly way. With so many changes at the school lately she is a bulwark of stability, caring and continuity. Bring her back! We need her!
