This is unbelievably close to discrimination, and has every potential to be a racist move. Incredibly disappointed in a so-called global school like Berklee taking this money-first stance.

I love how when something comes up that affects SOMEONE ELSE, it's not a huge deal.

Let's make sure Berklee is giving an equal opportunity to all. To be, rather than to seem.

My brother is Lionel Loueke if not scholarship he would not have been as successful as he is and I would have never met him. Please bring more amazing African musicians to Berklee and be proud!!

If Berklee were to truly seek for great musicians and expand Berklee's community, it must be fair for musical students from any part of the world. Please let African students experience this wonderful community of Berklee. We'd love to share with them. Let's make it happen Berklee!

The Student Government Association has met and is continuing to meet with the relevant parties about the issue. We will have an update soon. We are hosting an open council meeting this Thursday at 8pm in the SAC. Please come and bring friend - we will have information on the issue and will be able to take student input to the leadership of the college.

Why should African students have to travel huge distances in order to audition for the best music college in the world? Berklee needs to make themselves available for musical students EVERYWHERE, like they used to.

Roger, spending money has never been one of the administrations problems. One site audition in Johannesburg can't cost more, give the A&I team the money they need from the administration's salary budget, it won't be that big a cut from all of you. Or try and get the students to do a fundraiser for it.
