please keep us posted -- and keep the pressure on! Is it just an issue of cutting back to save money, or what? seems incredible to me not to stage auditions in a place where 1) people can least afford to go far to audition; and 2) some of the richest musical talent in the world resides! thanks for your efforts Berklee students!
I met a great friend of mine here at Berklee who is from Africa and did the African on-site Auditions. If it weren't for on-site Auditions I would have never met my friend who has opened doors for me and exposed me to African music and culture.
This is unbelievably close to discrimination, and has every potential to be a racist move. Incredibly disappointed in a so-called global school like Berklee taking this money-first stance.
My brother is Lionel Loueke if not scholarship he would not have been as successful as he is and I would have never met him. Please bring more amazing African musicians to Berklee and be proud!!
Why should African students have to travel huge distances in order to audition for the best music college in the world? Berklee needs to make themselves available for musical students EVERYWHERE, like they used to.

Hi all...I just checked the auditions list and Nairobi is back on for live auditions March 8th, 2014. Cape Town is still off the list, though.
