6th Grade camp was one of my most memorable learning experiences from middle school. For many kids it is the fist time they go away from home for an extended period of time and an unequaled opportunity to learn about the outdoors and grow as an individual. It would be a great loss to not have this opportunity for my child.

6th Grade camp is one of my fondest memories!! I heartbroken this year when I learned my son did not have the option at his school. Please reinstate this amazing program for our children!

I went to to 6th grade camp. It was one of the best experiences in my life. All of my 5 boys went to 6th grade camp and have fond memories. Now my grandkids are looking forward to 6th grade camp. Please keep this program for all our children.

I went to 6th grade camp 30+ years ago and I still remember what a fantastic experience it was. My youngest is going next week. It's a great learning experience and builds a sense of community amongst the students. It's a shame this has been taken away from your students.

This was always a highlight for us kids to have ALL our classmates go to camp, while i understand the monies issue maybe retired staff and or grandparents could assist in camp duties / planning or fundraising. I would be open to attend those meetings. Steve

Being from No Ca we never had this opportunity to attend 6th grade camp. I’m so glad my kids were able to attend 6th grade camp. This is very important as they start middle school!

I grew up in the LMSVSD and 6th grade camp is a great memory for me. I was sad to learn of the change when my own children started attending schools in the district. Children should go as a class together. That’s part of the adventure. This is an important part of gaining independence as well as an appreciation for nature. Many children in our district don’t have any experience in nature and camp is a wonderful introduction.

This camp was a highlight for both my children and an extremely important part of the education for all of today’s children, many of whom nature experiences are increasingly limited by more and more screen time.

It never should have been removed to begin with! So many life lessons can be learned during 6th grad camp. We have taken everything away from our kids. Let's give some back!!!

Sixth grade camp is a time honored tradition, as well as an opportunity to not only learn but to gain a sense of independence and confidence. I had no clue that it had been eliminated, but would strongly urge the school district to reconsider and reinstate.
