My daughter is a product of the LMSVSD. Her class was the last to attend Sixth grade camp as part of the curriculum. Her experience influenced her choice of colleges and field of study. This program is so much more than "Camp." Our children need hands on science based educational experiences to broaden their views. Bringing back Sixth grade camp should not be a question but an action.

I went to 6th grade camp at Camp Cuyamaca over 50 years ago and it was an unforgettable experience that taught me about conservation, socializing, independence, team work, and nature. Plus, it was fun. I remember coming home feeling more grown up and better equipped to face the challenges Jr. High.

My two older daughters were fortunate enough to attend 6th Grade Camp. They learned so much from this experience, gaining independence, confidence and a love of the outdoors. I am fighting for my son (and future district students) to have the same amazingly valuable opportunity!
