I’ve had issues with PW for years even when they charged me 300 more for a waterline that was obstructed on “the other side of the line “ it was like an act of congress to get something done - i just went and turned the water off myself … something had to give here … my friends in Atlanta are hearing about this and not moving here because of all the drama and issues people are having !

We have lived in many different states, and Piedmont is by far the most expensive water we’ve ever had.

Rates from Piedmont water are 3 to 4 times as much as rates for water in Newton county where we lived from 1980 to 2021. We built a home in Putnam county in 2021 where Piedmont water has a monopoly for water and sewer service.

My minimum water usage bill in Eatonton is about 4 times higher than I paid in Newton County GA where I lived From 1980 until 2011. The water rates here are reflect the monopoly that Piedmont water has in Putnam county where we live now.

When a water main break happened recently we were warned by a neighbor that last time that happened their water bill mysteriously went up significantly. So we waited for the bill to arrive. Sure enough, our bill was more than double our normal range bill. No watering lawn, no company, no auto fill on our pool, no adding water to pool. No leaks. Just more than double our normal bill amount. Then the next month, back to normal range again. Called them and they said it was unrelated. Hmm???

Having affordable water is a Human Right!! We can no longer keep allowing Dekalb County Utilities Customer Operations to just give Customers high bill with no other explanation but You Have A Leak!! Numerous times it has been checked by a License Plumber and there are no leaks!!
