This absolutely needs to be regulated. This year fireworks were going off from 3 pm. New Year's Eve until 3 am..then again, all day New Year's Day! Enough is enough!

For the sake of all of the stressed out pets that spend the night cowering in fear. For the dogs that run away from home and are never found. And for the obvious hazard of having drunk people set off explosives in residential areas.

I feel very strongly with this petition. i have a very nervous chihuahua and its not fun to watch her go through the stress and anxiety/torture of fireworks constantly going off all hours and for days! We need to be respectful, and its actually nerve reckoning when a lot of people have propane tanks outside there house and every house is so close together, potential fire hazard. Quidi Vidi puts off fireworks every year for people to gather around and celebrate.

I feel very strongly about this subject. Having a very nervous dog, it is absolute torture for him when fireworks are going off. In my neighborhood they start around 5pm and usually go on until 3 or 4am. Not to mention, this happens for a few days straight around New Years. They were still going off past midnight AFTER New Year's Day. As a dog owner, this means I have to stay home every holiday where there might be fireworks and deal with a very stressed dog. The incessant howling, crying, pacing back and forth, hiding under the bed, jumping in the tub, accidents in the house, etc.... something needs to be done. The fact that anyone of legal age can buy fireworks and set them off anytime, anywhere is completely unacceptable. I support this petition 100%.

I couldn't agree more. The sale is completely unregulated. You can buy them at dollar stores now. People should NOT be allowed to set them off in residential areas.

I have 2 dogs that get very very skiddish with firework even cap guns. I am not saying that I don't like fireworks but no need for hours upon hours of them. I also have a 1 and half year old baby boy that could have been kept from his normal sleep routine but he's a great sleeper but all the same respect for others should be considered. Since I figured out that fireworks affect my dogs and others we do not set them off out of respect for my 2 dogs who in my eyes are family. Please try to figure out something for all those that are affected.

I suffer from PTSD and have 2 dogs. The garbage left in back garden from neighbouring people use of fireworks was ridiculous!

Not only causes distress but personal damage when fired off in a residential areas. Alcohol and fireworks do not mix! There should be regulations on this.

I'm lucky enough to have a dog who isn't bothered by them, but where I am in paradise I heard fireworks going off pretty much constantly from dark until well after midnight. They did however, keep me awake. The number of lost pet posts I've been seeing on Facebook is heart wrenching. Not to mention the elderly, especially those with Alzheimer's or dimentia, those with Autism or sensory issues, ptsd, the list goes on... setting a limited time span on when they can be used would greatly alleviate a lot of this stress for a lot of these people and pet owners as they would know when to be expecting it and would be able to take measures to prepare.

My dogs have become more & more traumatized over the years, despite us trying various methods to calm them. It is painful to see them in such distress.

It's so hard to calm and comfort your pet when people set of fire works whenever they feel like it. People need to considerat of our pets who are family to us.

It truly needs to stop. Fireworks needs to be put off in a controlled environment on specific dates/times. It shouldn't be a free for all.

I feel that fireworks need to be limited to public safe spaces and limited hours. Both my parents had 'shell shock' from WW2 and fireworks can be very distressing to some people. It is frightening to dogs and disturbs the sleep of others that might need to work the next day.
