Regulate Fireworks

Please regulate the use of fireworks. Limit household amounts, time of use etc.

Terrified dog for two nights in a row :( had to stay up past 2am both nights to make sure the fireworks were over so we could get him out to use the bathroom.

I support limiting the use of fireworks in residential areas. So many lost and traumatized pets. We were anxious each time we had to take the dog outside, afraid he'd bolt.

Our family is unaffected, but I know individuals (veterans) with PTSD in our community and the unlimited, unpredictability of the fireworks is extremely difficult.

Please put regulations in place that state when and how fireworks can be set off.

I'm tired of seeing my dog traumatized because someone in the neighbourhood wants to enhance their good time by setting off fireworks. This activity should be never, in my opinion, be allowed in a residential area. It also should be restricted to someone who has a license to handle and operate explosive materials safely. A few people just having a little bit of fun does not justify the dangers and discomfort of everybody else. There are people in all communities who have issues with the discharge of explosive materials. Pet owners are tired of watching their animals be tortured by the residential use of fireworks and also of losing them while walking or letting them out to toilet. The setting off of fireworks is not in direct correlation to having a good time. It is in direct correlation to the number of lost animal posts I see in my social media feeds the day after a holiday in which the use of fireworks is common. Hours of continuous fireworks in my neighbourhood for three nights this year. It's too much!

Close to 8 hours of sporadic fireworks. No.

Please regulate fireworks for the safety and wellbeing of our pets and all animals affected by fireworks.

There needs to be more regulation. We can't leave our house during the new years or Canada day fireworks as our dog will destroy our home out of fear.

I have two dogs who were terrified by the constant bombardment of fireworks over new years. and my oldest couldn't get away from the sounds.

I feel there needs to be some restriction on the use of fireworks, which are explosives, for everyone's safety.

This year saw two full nights of fireworks, Dec. 31 and Jan. 1, which essentially doubled the number of terrified pets bolting from their humans. My FB rescue sites have blown up over the past two days with frantic pleas from anxious owners, trying to find their beloved pets. Restrictions to urban use NEED to be put in place.

Not against fireworks but a time limit would be great. My boxer is terrified when the fireworks are going off for hours on end

I am in Mount Pearl and really hope they too will follow suit!
