No Short-Term Rentals in Malibu. Please.

We need to take a stand against STRs and copy the Santa Monica ordinance...they are coming and hell is coming with them!

Not a Malibu resident but support saving Malibu from the Manhattan & SFO disease!

malibu has to decide whether it is a community or a corporate shell..airbnb is nothing more than stealth rezoning ...

Without the type of controls that Santa Monica has, Mslibu’s Mission and Vision statements might as well be stricken from our incorporation papers and lucrative deals for our city staff and council signed immediately with large hotel chains, short term rental agencies and companies, and massive land tract developers. Just call in the bulldozers because this opens the door to wipespread change.

STOP short term RENTALS and Airbnb’s its a problem for everyone who lives in Malibu. Not everything is about money.

Airbnb has been a nightmare. Our neighbors purchased their house solely for Airbnb use. They rent the main house, guest house and airstream trailer. We have a young child, we don’t know who these people are that rent for a few nights then a new group comes in. They can be molesters, abusers, anyone. But the neighbor doesn’t care, they don’t even live nearby.

Let Malibu be a home town - not a vacation place where no one calls it home

I have lived in Malibu for 18 years. I am a Film and Tv composer. I am homeless.I have lived and worked in various guest houses. I have watched my rent double in the last 8 years and then I was evicted and am now homeless .The out of state landlord converted my guest house,that has been a long term rental since 1978, into a Shorterm rental. He doesn’t care about the community as he doesn’t live in California. Malibu has always been a unique community of musicians and creatives. Please help us protect this. We need to preserve our wonderful community and that I may once again have a home.

I left Malibu because of situations like this and traffic.

I was asked to leave my serene many years of residence so they can turn the building into an air&b. This needs to stop before we lose our sense of community and the reason why we live where we live in exchange for tourist and visitors who could careless about our community and town, before all destroyed.
