Let’s set up a complaint program for those who abuse the kindness & noise laws. Otherwise, some people actually need this to continue to pay their bills. And others use this to allow people to enjoy our community without having to pay $400+ a night hotel bills.

I live in a small Malibu Neighborhood (12 homes) suffering from the effects of a single STR that has included a woman being assaulted, large parties where vehicles have blocked emergency vehicle access, trespassing and other many issues that have jeopardized our property and lives in the community. We have no recourse and desperately need regulation.

As a 25 year resident of Malibu, I understand the benefit of tax income from STR but the deterioration of the peaceful rural lifestyle that attracted most of us to this complicated city is not worth the price. Please let the community know alternative ways the city and residents could raise funds without such a disruptive impact. Thank you.

No, the petition is for ban the STR. Also, some of the rules being primary residency is too restrictive. What you care is that you do not want problems and to be disturbed by the short term rentals, and why the hell you care about whether this is primary resident or secondary resident. In addition, why does the owner have to on side. If you are renting a place, don't you want some privacy too? Come on, don't be hateful. When you are mean to others, you will one day get the same treatment back.

STRS where the home owner absent are a bad idea , can be dangerous .and can often conflict with the character of Malibu neighborhoods. . STRs should be prudently regulated.

Permit STRs but with limitations:
Limit number of occupants
Require strict noise rules
Require adequate off-street parking
